Cybercriminal activity has become almost epidemic, with annual damages reaching tens of millions. Since the weakest link is usually the person between the keyboard and the chair, the Estonian Information System Authority has created a web portal where cybersecurity advice can be found for individuals, entrepreneurs, parents, and the public sector. The information is available in written form, as short videos, and as knowledge tests.

Project
Be cautious with IT
The website offers cybersecurity advice from the Estonian Information System Authority for both individuals and organizations. Useful for everyone!

In 2024, the portal underwent further development. Since the website had been put together from various campaign websites over time, it had many inconsistencies, making the understanding and user experience disrupted.
Redwall won the public tender, and we were commissioned to handle the entire project:
- Project management and documentation handling
- UX/UI analysis
- Improvement suggestions to enhance user-friendliness
- Design modernization
- Development work
During the analysis phase, we conducted a user study in addition to audits. This confirmed our hypotheses and allowed us to make adjustments if necessary.
We improved information findability by refining the content structure.
For the visual design, we based it on the existing color palette. The style was slightly softened and made friendlier to better match the typical tastes of regular users. We also incorporated elements from RIA’s new visual identity.

On longer, content-rich subpages, various content types and visual elements are used to improve information comprehension and maintain user interest.
Ensuring accessibility was a key aspect of this project. It’s great that this was also considered in terms of content – for example, the educational videos include transcriptions.
The website operates on the WordPress content management system. After the website’s completion, Redwall also offers maintenance services.
