Vaimo

The website of a globally active digital commerce expert was optimized and refreshed.

Vaimo is a respected expert with a long-standing track record in digital commerce and customer experience, with offices around the world. They offer full-service solutions to global enterprises, including consulting, analysis, design, development, and everything in between and beyond.

The previous version of Vaimo’s own website had, over the years, grown somewhat sprawling and unstructured. An internal plan was already in place for a content overhaul. We were brought in to carry out a design and development refresh, which included:

Vaimo’s website is built on WordPress, with a content management system based on a plugin that allowed for flexible expansion and customization of both design and content. However, this flexibility had led to bloated code, filled with conflicts, duplicates, and stylistic inconsistencies.

Our main task, therefore, was to clean up and optimize both the design and the code. To be honest, it would have been easier to start from scratch and switch to WordPress’s built-in Gutenberg editor, but the client opted for a more gradual approach—refining the existing codebase instead. In the end, the codebase was significantly reduced, the website became faster, and overall content management became much simpler.

In terms of design, the overall style and layout remained the same—our main task was to unify and adjust elements in line with the updated visual identity and accessibility requirements. We also needed to assess and improve the overall user experience where necessary. To do this, we conducted a website usage analysis based on Google Analytics data and carried out a moderated qualitative study with a small test group. This process revealed several pain points, particularly in visual design and navigation, which were successfully addressed.

The project was extensive, and following the first major phase, we’re continuing to develop a marketing and communication toolkit tailored to the client’s evolving needs using an agile approach. In addition, through our maintenance and support services, we ensure the website remains up to date and that ongoing needs are addressed quickly and efficiently.
